A circle of sorts, the old sawmill blade spinning as it chews through a log. this was taken at an old manual sawmill in the Missouri Ozarks… i spent an hour or so there on a cold February day with the snow spitting. it was a fascinating process to watch especially in these days of automation and computer guided machinery.
one man rolls the log over and lines it up using just his eyes and years of practice, starts up the saw and sends it through. men at the other end take whatever comes off and sort it into the right pile, sometimes manually shaving some bark off here and there.
it was really an interesting thing to watch, maybe some day i will visit them again.
